I, Jedi Star Wars:

In I, Jedi Corran Horn, former security officer and hero of Rogue Squadron, is searching for his wife, Mirax, who has disappeared while on a secret mission. Worse, her disappearance seems linked to a group of pirates as well as some Dark Jedi. To rescue Mirax Corran Horn must learn to harness his own Force abilities and he must define who he is - CorSec officer, pilot or jedi. - This is my personal favourite among the Star Wars novels. Interesting plot, complex and believable character developement as well as some shades of grey in the viewpoint of the characters that make the plot very realistical. I, Jedi is a stand-alone novel but refers to characters and events from the X-Wing series.

The Wolf and the Raven Shadowrun:

This is a collection of short stories that features Wolf and Raven, two immensely popular characters first seen in the first Shadowrun anthology. The interlinked tales in The Wolf and the Raven follow the adventures of Wolfgang Kies, a special kind of shaman and operative for Dr. Richard Raven, an elven man-of-mystery. The book includes It's All Done With Mirrors, originally from Into the Shadows, and several other Wolf and Raven stories, collected for the first time in a single volume.

BattleTech Battletech:

Michael A. Stackpole wrote many of the core novels of the BattleTech background. Prince of Havoc is his last novel in the BattleTech universe for the time being. However, with the upcoming further development of Battletech as Mechwarrior: Dark Age he will return to this series.

Stand-alone Novels:
Talion Talion: Revenant

Talion is actually the first book Michael A. Stackpole has ever written and is published now because of his success with his Battletech and Star Wars series. Two plot threads - one how Nolan ra Sinjaria trains as Talion warrior-judge after the slaughter of his family by the Hamisians, the other about his current adventures - are intertwined and provide the necessary deep characterization for the conflicted protagonist. Together with Stackpole's skilled writing technique you get with Talion: Revenant a fantasy book you won't put down until you have read it to the end. (book excerpt)

Eyes of Silver Eyes of Silver

Years ago battle-priest Malachy Kidd lost his eyes in battle, and his ability to serve his god with powerful combat magicks and unwavering faith. But Kidd's divine inspiration finally arrives: he must protect the legendary Dost, the most powerful figure in the land - the chance to restore his honor at last. Michael A. Stackpole writes about a quest filled with magic, intrigue, and love.

A Hero Born A Hero Born

Locke, an apprentice swordsman, journeys to the City of the Sorcerers to search for his father in the realms of Chaos where time and change are out of control, but finds himself in battle against an evil bent on the destruction of all human life.

Once a Hero Once a Hero

Neal Elfward was once a hero in the legendary battles against the Reithrese 500 years ago. He won even the respect and the alliance of the elves, but did not survive the last victorious battle. Now, in the present time power greedy villains threaten anything he had once fought for. In a desperate attempt to avoid war an elf sorceress resurrects the hero. - Similiar to his Talion: Revenant novel Stackpole interweaves in Once a Hero the story of Neal's fight against the Reithrese empire with that of the consequences of his fight 500 years later.

The Dark Glory War The Dark Glory War

In the sacred season of the Moon Month, four young men don the masks that herald their coming-of-age celebration, a time of testing, ritual, festival, and romance. But for Tarrant Hawkins and his friends Leigh, Rounce, and Nay, their first test becomes a desperate struggle for survival. For they will encounter the vanguard of an invasion force poised to overrun their homeland of Oriosa, and all four will find their lives changed forever when they encounter a legendary weapon that brings its wielder invincibility. Yet the magic sword may prove more curse than blessing, signaling the arrival of a cataclysmic battle with ancient foes. And in the face of dire sorceries and terrible battles, these youths will come to manhood... or to death. This book is a prelude to the DragonCrown War Cycle. (book excerpt)
